I knew it had been a while since I last posted here... but somehow a whole month has got away. Sorry. As usual the excuse is busy-ness. And the fact that all we do lately is study there hasn't been much to write.
But the studies are going well. Luis is finishing assignments and starting to prepare for exams next month. He has found this year very challenging but is doing well. I am busy preparing for fieldwork in Central America (only 8 more weeks before we leave)... writing a literature review, ethics committee meeting, and finally... contacting agencies that I would like to do research with in Honduras. As usual, see my thesis page for more info on that.
Luis headaches have been much improved lately, although he still has mild headaches most days. I think he thinks that the trip to Honduras may be the cure! However in the meantime he has injured his knee paying indoor soccer (getting his leg in between the two rival team members and the ball!) and is limping around. He's sure he will be back playing keeper in a week or two but this nurse is yet to be convinced. Right now he's not walking far, not cycling and not dancing. Luckily studying requires sitting still. As does the Spanish films in film festical being run by the Latin American Film Festival at the university this week. It's not often you get to see Spanish Language films in Palmerston North so Luis is really enjoying them, as am I- it's great language practise!
I am hoping to add some new pages to this site for information about, and eventually photos and a journal of our trip to Honduras, so check back in a few weeks for that. And I promise I'll try to write more often!
